Bryggan Privacy Policy

The short version

Bryggan collects no data. It has no account, no analytics and no server. Everything it shows is created and kept on your Mac.

What Bryggan handles

• Events from Claude Code that the Bryggan plugin sends to the app on the same Mac: which session started, whether an agent is working, needs you, sent a status update, finished or stopped on an error, a one-line summary of what it said, the project folder path and where the conversation transcript is stored, and the conversation title (which can be taken from one of your own recent messages). When you approve a command from Bryggan, the command itself (or the file change) is shown so you can read it.
• Approval requests for commands, when you turn on Remote mode.
• Your settings, such as sounds, language and quiet hours.

This information stays inside the app's own storage on your Mac. Session history is kept for at most seven days and can be cleared at any time from the app.

What leaves your Mac

Nothing. The Mac App Store version of Bryggan only accepts connections from the same computer (127.0.0.1). It makes no network requests of its own, apart from Apple's StoreKit checking the subscription (see below).

The Claude Code plugin

The optional plugin runs inside Claude Code on your Mac. It reads the event Claude Code gives it, the current conversation transcript on your Mac (up to its last 8 MB - to find the title, write the summary and tell a status update from a finished task), the Claude desktop app's list of conversations (so that "Open" lands in the right one) and Claude Code's own ~/.claude/settings.json (so nothing is reported twice). It also reads its own pairing token (~/.claude/bryggan-plugin/token, or the standalone Bryggan's token if that is installed) to sign what it sends. It sends the event, the summary and which terminal app the session runs in (so "Open" can bring it forward) only to Bryggan on the same Mac, never the transcript file itself.

The plugin keeps two kinds of small files on your Mac: the pairing token in ~/.claude/bryggan-plugin/token (readable only by you), and empty marker files named bryggan-hb-<session> in your temporary folder (or ~/Library/Caches) that limit activity pings to one a minute. Neither contains any conversation content.

Subscription and payments

Bryggan is sold as a yearly subscription through the Mac App Store. Apple handles the payment; Bryggan never sees your payment details. To know whether the subscription is active, the app asks the App Store on your Mac through Apple's StoreKit. That is the only network traffic related to Bryggan, and it goes to Apple.

Children

Bryggan is a developer tool and is not directed at children.
